FRD Ltd is a leading maker for the international design community based in Wimborne St Giles, Dorset. We are a team of craftspeople, designers and engineers working in non-ferrous and ferrous materials to produce sculptural installations, bespoke furniture & lighting and entire product ranges.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The role of the Finishing Studio Manager is a varied position whereby you will be responsible for the finishing and assembly of lighting and furniture products. Including chemical oxidisation of metals to achieve different patinas; paint spraying; glazing; assembly and wiring. Projects may vary from steel fabrication to detailed decorative metalwork on challenging bespoke projects in brass, copper, stainless steel and other metals. Our projects often incorporate Glass, LEDs, cabinetry, upholstery and stone.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Working from technical drawings to finish products to a high level of quality.
Using skill and knowledge of finishing techniques such as traditional, decorative and specialist finishes.
Using skill and experience in: spraying, chemical oxidisation, acid etching, gilding, glass cutting, glazing, bonding and application of surface protection.
Quality control checking product before and after Finishing.
Excellent attention to detail, consistency and ability to problem solve.
Work efficiently and effectively without affecting the quality of the end product.
Ability to assemble and wire products ready for install (including the rating and testing of products to CE and UL standards).

To keep working areas tidy and safe
To record time spent on each job and maintain or create finishing notes.

Commute to Wimborne St. Giles, Dorset
Valid driver's license
Authorised to work in United Kingdom
